Chapter 23

Stretched out on the bed after their rather energetic efforts in the shower, Ianto propped himself up on his elbow to gaze down at the man who still had the power to stun him into silence, mulling over the memories he’d shared from Gwen’s wedding...

Jack raised an eyebrow...questioning...

Ianto grinned. “I’m fine...you said you were thinking about her...when you were awake...watching me sleep..?”

Jack frowned. “I was thinking about those pictures of the Doctor with Mollie...am I being fair to Gwen – keeping her at Torchwood when she’s got a young daughter...what we do is so dangerous... she could get killed, maimed for life...anything...have I got the right to deprive that little girl of her mum...to say nothing of what it would do to Rhys..?”

“You said it yourself, Jack...she keeps you grounded...maybe this place gives her something similar...and now she’s got Mollie and Rhys to fight for...what better incentive for wanting to keep the world safe...”

“When did you get to be so wise for such a young man..?” He ruffled the other man’s still damp hair, reaching for him...

Ianto batted his hands away, grinning “...you’re insatiable!”

“...you’re irresistible!” Jack countered, raising an eyebrow suggestively...

“...you’re incorrigible!”

“...but you love me anyway...” smirking as the Welshman gave in and allowed himself to be kissed thoroughly for long enjoyable minutes.

Resting their foreheads together, he stroked his fingers through the soft hair at the nape of Ianto’s neck, noting it was just starting to curl up at the ends...he liked it like that...  He closed his eyes and let himself drift, aimless thoughts and snatches of memories from good times past...Ianto’s recreation of paradise on the lower levels, saucy play with measuring tapes at Sartoriani, watching the sunrise up on the roof - snuggled together under his coat, a rather memorable session in a hay loft...God, that was hot..! a mud-covered naked Welshman after a weevil hunt on the reserve...

Ianto smiled softly as he followed Jack’s thoughts...lingering on the hay loft...he still had those snaps on his phone... He chuckled, remembering Jack’s failed attempts to catch a baby goat...he’d finally dragged Ianto back there a week later, snuck back into the barn and pouted until Ianto had caught him the cutest kid there was and allowed him to pet the soft downy creature to his heart’s content before creeping out again, avoiding Ifan Davies, the farmer, by a whisker..!

Jack nuzzled into his lover’s neck, brushing his lips lightly over the soft skin, feeling the delicious shiver that swept through the young man’s body echo in his own. He pulled back enough to press their lips together, the kiss sweet and tender, before releasing him reluctantly.

“We need to get dressed if we’re going to take breakfast into the hub...” Ianto sighed

“Yeah... this has been...good...nice...” Jack gestured absently towards their surroundings.

“Yeah...even with all the ‘rough stuff’ as the Doctor put it...it’s been...nice...”

“But...”

“Yeah...” No words were needed. It had indeed been more than nice to spend time away from their frantic and unconventional life, but they were both happy to get back to the work of saving the world...

“We do need to make sure everyone has some time off, though, on a regular basis if we can...I’ve really liked being able to wake up with you and not have to jump straight out of bed...” Jack streamed some early morning playbacks into his Welshman’s head, reaching for him again as he felt their bodies reacting to the images...

“You’re insatiable!”

“...you’re irresistible!”

“I’m not going there again! Get dressed!” Ianto laughed and wriggled out of reach, vanishing into the bathroom. When he reappeared he was dressed in his tight black jeans and another Blue Gillespie t-shirt that clung to his body in a way that made Jack’s mouth water.

Ianto smirked, feeling the reaction in Jack’s head. “Good Captains who get dressed now and behave themselves get to play later..!” chuckling when the older man immediately got up and began to sort out his clothes, finally settling on a pair of battered blue jeans that slung low on his hips and a green Captain America t-shirt...

“Not bad...not bad at all...you’ll do..!” Ianto tugged him in for a kiss, before slipping out of his arms and heading for the door.

They leant against each other in the elevator, but Jack behaved himself impeccably, much to Ianto’s surprise...in fact, part of him was a teeny bit disappointed – he’d quite enjoyed all the steamy snogging during the brief journeys between the penthouse and the lobby...

He followed Jack out of the lift feeling quite deprived and his despondency increased as Jack strode ahead, the ever-present coat billowing behind him, without even reaching for his hand...so...really back in work-mode now...

Behind his shields, Jack chuckled as he listened to Ianto’s thoughts...

At the bakers, Jack did his usual mass buying of pastries which were then packed neatly into a carrier bag. Ianto raised an eyebrow. They didn’t usually bother with a bag, each carrying a few of the paper bags...today Jack was most insistent...and then he strode off again, leaving Ianto trailing in his wake wondering what was going on...

When he caught up, Jack was waiting on the slab, the carrier bag beside his feet. He dragged the Welshman onto the hidden lift and wrapped him into his arms, crushing their mouths together hungrily, his tongue demanding entry where it explored possessively as he pressed their bodies together... They came up for air, gasping. Jack activated the lift and reclaimed the young man’s soft and sensual mouth, the kiss gentle and loving now as he threaded his hands through his hair and Ianto melted into his embrace.

They reached the bottom but neither noticed, caught up in their sweet and endless kiss...not even when the roller door hollered the arrival of the team who stood there and watched them, grinning...

“At least they’re not rolling all over the floor this time..!” Lois said with a giggle as she caught Gwen’s eye and the Welshwoman blushed, remembering a whispered conversation in the boardroom after that last display of passion where the two women had secretly confessed to each other that they’d found it a real turn on...

Peter rolled his eyes. “Oi! Put him down and get the coffee on!” sounding eerily like his acerbic predecessor.

Jack and Ianto came up for air and looked round at the others, Jack grinning widely, Ianto looking just a little more dazed...Jack’s endless kisses did that to him!

“Hey kids! We did bring breakfast..!”

“Yea, well now you’ve finished yours..!” Peter grinned as Ianto blushed and buried his face in Jack’s shoulder...

“Ok, ok...but Ianto missed out on a snog in the hotel lift this morning so I had to make it up to him..!”

Ianto groaned. How could he forget that Jack could hear his thoughts...all his thoughts unless he put his shields up...”

“...yes I can...all of them!

He tipped the young man’s face up to kiss him again lightly, brushing his thumb across his cheek as he looked deep into his eyes, love radiating out of those blue grey depths... “...timeless and eternal...”

Ianto smiled, his special ‘just-for-Jack’ smile and the team dropped their gaze, not wanting to intrude on the intimate moment. He leant into the touch briefly, before jumping down from the slab, picking up the carrier bag and heading towards the kitchen. “I’ll get the coffee going then...boardroom or here?”

Jack glanced at Gwen and raised an eyebrow.

“Boardroom, I think...” she narrowed her eyes, “...you’re not going to do any more wild role play are you...only I’d like some notice so I can have my camera ready..!” she dissolved into giggles as Ianto practically ran up the stairs and disappeared into the kitchen, his face glowing as Jack laughed loudly.

“Not planning on it...but I’ll let you know..!” He jumped down from the slab and headed towards his office, shrugging out of his coat which he hung neatly on the stand in the corner...Ianto was definitely good for him - in days gone by he would’ve just slung it on the chair, he mused thoughtfully... He flicked through the pile of files on his desk, it was mostly routine...he stopped at one, a huge smile lighting up his face as he tucked the file under his arm and headed out the door...

“Yan...leave the coffee...” he could sense the raised eyebrow from here! “...you gotta come see this...cells...oh, this is just brilliant..!”

He hurried down the stairs towards the lower levels, Ianto once again following in his wake. The others were just heading for the boardroom. “Jack? I thought we were going to the boardroom..?” Gwen headed after them, followed by Lois and Peter.

Jack stopped in front of the cell, beaming. “Oh, it is gorgeous...I’ve always wanted one of these but they wouldn’t have survived in our climate back home...”

Ianto looked at the tiny dragon. It was undoubtedly cute, curled up on a bed of straw in the corner fast asleep. He turned to look at Gwen. “You caught a dragon?”

“It’s not a dragon!” Jack enthused. “It’s a Nids – they’re domestic pets, you know like you have a cat or a dog...this one’s only a baby...probably got an unhappy mummy somewhere on the other side of the rift...what’ve you given it to eat?” he glanced at the medic.

“Well, it was chewing on that rose bush when the girls found it, so we figured it liked roses...it seems to be quite picky on its choice of flavour though! It’s eaten most of the fruit we gave it and it really seems to like grapes – especially the red seeded ones...it ate those first both times, so we’ve got a load more for its breakfast...”

Jack grinned again. “Well done! It likes the grapes because they’re a good source of tannin – basically the chemical you find in tea – and there’s probably some in those roses it was munching on... We so have to keep this...it won’t come to any harm if we let it wander around the hub...”

“What about Myfanwy? We don’t want her attacking it...” Ianto pondered, his brow furrowed as he thought. “We could try introducing them and see what happens...I’ve got some dark chocolate...”

The warehouse scene scampered across his brain, and he felt Jack’s lips brush the back of his neck as he shared in the memory, his arms sliding around his waist from behind as his Captain rested his chin on the Welshman’s shoulder.

“Ok, shall we do it now? It’s just waking up...” the Nids yawned and stretched in a remarkably cat-like fashion, tiny puffs of smoke floating up from its nostrils. It stood up and looked towards them. Jack opened the cell and went in, crouching down and holding his hand out so it could get his scent. It moved closer, rubbing its head against his hand, a deep rumbling sound in its throat. It was purring. He scooped it into his arms and stood up, the others crowding round to pet it, before they returned to the main level.

Jack stood to one side while Ianto called Myfanwy, the soft whistle he’d trained her to respond to echoing around the hub. There was a swoosh of wings and the pteranodon landed on the floor in front of him, beak cracking loudly in welcome. Ianto patted her and broke off some of the chocolate which she snapped up eagerly. He threw the next piece towards Jack, the dinosaur following  and devouring it.

Jack held the next piece out, hoping his fingers would survive the encounter...it was taken neatly from his hand ...and then Myfanwy froze, her head on one side as she noticed the pet in Jack’s arms. The Nids squirmed fearfully and made little mewling sounds, like a tiny puppy. It pressed into Jack’s arms and he soothed it, tensing as the huge creature edged closer. She rubbed her head against his arm, a soft clacking noise coming from her beak.

Holding his breath – feeling Ianto doing exactly the same thing – Jack put the Nids down on the floor. It rushed to Myfanwy’s legs and pressed itself against them, purring loudly. The pteranodon clacked again, brushing her beak gently down its back, glaring round to warn everyone off. “This is mine” she seemed to be saying...

They backed off, watching from a distance. The Nids explored its surroundings a little, returning to Myfanwy frequently, the prehistoric creature nuzzling the tiny dragon lovingly.

Jack grinned at the others. “Looks like ‘his nids’ just got a surrogate mum! Let’s give them some breakfast and leave them to it so we can have ours...”

Ianto quickly fed Myfanwy and left her the rest of the chocolate, placing a bowl of tea and another of water on the floor, while Peter sorted out a mixed fruit tray heavy on red grapes for the aptly named ‘his nids’...

Ten minutes later they were all sat in the boardroom, mugs of coffee and a heap of assorted Danish pastries in front of them. Jack leant back in his chair and assumed his usual position of feet up on the table, fingers steepled together...ignoring the disapproving look from his partner...Jack was always...Jack!

“Ok, update away...”

“We’ve been monitoring a significant increase in violent crime and general unrest in the Splott area – the media are putting it down to the recent closure of the three biggest employers in that area and the resultant stress on already pressured low income families, but, frankly, we think there’s more to it...Lois...”

“I’ve been listening in to the police band and I’ve hacked into all their logs of all the incidents involving any form of violence, civil unrest or public disorder...comparing that to a historical average over the past twelve months you get an increase over the past two weeks of over two hundred percent...”

“Wow...steep increase...so what are you thinking?”

“There’s more. We think it links in with a sharp increase in the numbers of unexplained persistent headaches as well...”

Peter took over the report. “I got a call from an ex-colleague at the hospital who said he’d been seeing an unusually large number of people through A&E who described symptoms of cephalgia – these are persistent and unexplained headaches, most usually ‘tension-type’ and when they occur on a regular basis it can indicate either swelling on the brain, a haemorrhage or in some cases, a tumour... So Lois and I went to check it out... However, it seems that these headaches are just that, headaches with no obvious cause, and, despite a raft of tests and mass of data gathering the only thing that appears to connect them is...”

“...the patients all live in the Splott area..?” finished Jack.

Peter nodded and Gwen resumed the tale. “Lois and I were in Splott yesterday, on the estate tracking a rift spike that turned out to be ‘his nids’. It was uneventful, quiet...nothing to indicate anything is going on...but we both had blinding headaches when we left...”

Jack glanced at the medic, who nodded, “I gave them both a full physical check-up...nothing to indicate anything other than an unexplained headache...no residual rift energy at all...it’s a mystery that’s really got us baffled...”

“...so I started digging around for anything unusual over the past couple of weeks...” Lois tapped her palmtop and the view-screen showed a graph one side and a map overlaid with hundreds of tiny red, yellow and blue dots... “The graph shows the sales of over-the-counter pain relief in Splott and the surrounding area...see the date it started rising..?”

Jack and Ianto leant forward, glancing at each other... “...that was the day we had that huge rift flare...the one that blacked out all the CCTV and we found nothing...”

“...yes, and look at the figures...it’s still rising...whatever it is it’s causing widespread cephalgia right across the area and the ones we’ve seen going to their GPs and A&E are just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve also checked out local vets...”

Jack raised his eyebrows questioningly.

“...and it seems that animals are not immune either. There’s been an increase in consultations where owners are simply describing their pets as ‘unhappy’ or ‘not their usual selves’ – all very vague, but an increase of seventy two percent was more than enough to get our attention...

Now, the map shows Splott and the immediate surrounding area – the red dots are human, either GP or hospital consultations, the blue are the pet appointments and the yellow are locations of supermarkets, chemists, garages, corner shops and similar – anywhere that sells pain relief that we’ve used for our data...”

They gazed at the map and the heavy concentration of dots blanketing the Lampeter estate, the roughest of the three housing estates...

Jack rubbed the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes, thinking...

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this, cariad...” Ianto bit on his bottom lip.

“Agreed...there’s a storm coming...as the Doctor would say...any ideas?”

“We need to go in there, if we can safely, see for ourselves...think it’s deliberate or unfortunate side effect..?”

“...side effect of what..?”

“Point taken!”

Jack swung his feet off the table and sat up. “Ok, we need to get in there if we can and see first-hand what’s happening. Peter, see if you can sort out something to help block the pain receptors so we’ve got some sort of protection against this phenomena, also see if there’s any way we can scan for frequencies...we might be able to get a fix on the point of origin... Gwen, have a friendly chat with Andy...see if we could maybe do a house-to-house kind of thing about improving safety on the estate...I don’t know...”

“Like a Neighbourhood Watch scheme you mean?”

“Yeah, that’ll do... Lois, go over the data again and see if you can find anything that’ll narrow down our target area – sorry, I know that’s asking the impossible as we don’t know what we’re looking for...” he grinned ruefully before reaching out to grab a Danish. “Any chance of a top-up?” he waved his mug at Ianto, nudging him in his head when he was ignored...

Ianto had followed the briefing, noting all the facts and cataloguing them in his head, but couldn’t stop his mind wandering back to his conversation with Jack about Gwen, finding himself watching her carefully...thoughtfully...reassessing... Several times she’d caught his gaze and he’d either smiled or blushed lightly before glancing away.

He was staring at her again when he felt Jack’s mind nudge and he looked round guiltily, hearing the chuckle in his head “...you’re gonna freak her out if you keep staring at her!” then softening as he felt the sudden rush of insecurity that was immediately quashed, “...could really do with some more coffee...and you could check up on his nids while you’re out there...”

Ianto pushed his chair back and stood up. “I’ll go get the coffee pot”, he said, sliding gracefully out the door, feeling Jack’s eyes on his back as he retreated. He moved swiftly through the hub, pausing to rub his nids affectionately behind the ear as he passed...it might look like a dragon, but it’s mannerisms were undoubtedly ‘catlike’ in nature. Myfanwy had gone back to her nest but he could hear her moving around, no doubt keeping a watchful eye on her young charge...

In the kitchen he placed the coffee pot, cream and sugar on a tray and returned to the boardroom, to be greeted with shrieks of delighted laughter... The picture of a sleeping Doctor and Mollie now filled the huge screen and Jack was explaining to Lois what he’d like her to do with it... “I know we’ve got far more serious stuff to do”, he said grinning, “...but we’d like to give him this tonight – you are all still coming, yeah? Seven, for seven-thirty..?” glancing round at the vigorous nods of agreement.  “...so if you can do one of those 3D virtual floating things for him, that’d be great and Ianto and I’ll sort out the huge printed ones we thought we’d put up on the roof garden for him...”

They finished their breakfast in good spirits before Lois, Peter and Gwen went off to their respective workstations, leaving Jack and Ianto alone in the boardroom. Jack leant against the table as Ianto began gathering the cups and plates, placing them on the tray...

“Leave that...” Jack tugged his Welshman towards him, the young man’s arms sliding round his waist as Jack’s hands moved to cup his face and the back of his neck... Their lips met in a soft and gentle kiss, the familiar jolt of wonder and butterfly sensation in Ianto’s body echoing in his Captain’s...that was something they’d never tire of...

They came up for air, briefly, before sinking back into more sweet and endless kisses, minds entwined together, bodies melted against each other...each lost in the other...

Lois tapped into the CCTV feed and called Gwen over, the girls giggling before agreeing, yes it was hot! and then, showing extreme strength of will, they turned it off, returning to their tasks...

Pulling apart some considerable time later, lips pink and kiss-swollen, faces flushed and hair thoroughly dishevelled, Jack stroked his thumb tenderly across his Welshman’s cheek. “We need to get those tests done...check your chronon levels...see how lo...”

Ianto silenced him with a hard passionate kiss. “I don’t want to know...well, not right now anyway...maybe in a few years when I’ve had a chance to think about it...assuming I survive...” they both felt the stab of pain that shot through the older man, accompanied with a flash of Ianto cradled in his arms... Ianto countered with his revival as their heart rates returned to normal.

“You sure about this?”

“Yep! I just want to take every day as a gift...now can we get this picture done so I can take you back to the suite and unwrap you before the Doctor arrives...”

The pictures were printed, mounted and wrapped carefully. Ianto finished the washing up and made a fresh pot of coffee for the team, Jack grabbing a couple of croissants from the bag before the two men said their goodbyes and left through the Tourist office, promising to come back and collect their table centrepiece later...

They strolled around the bay, chewing on croissant, the pictures tucked under Jack’s arm... “Do you ever wonder what your life would be like if Canary Wharf had never happened?” he asked suddenly.

Ianto stopped, startled. He considered for a moment, hastening to catch up. “Not thought about it...married...to Lisa, I guess...maybe have a kid by now? I don’t know...it’s hard to imagine any life that’s not got you in it...where did that come from?”

Having finished his croissant, Jack reached for Ianto’s hand and slipped his fingers through the young man’s, squeezing gently. “Gwen had a quiet word when you were getting the coffee refills...she was a bit worried that she’d upset you because you kept staring at her..! Don’t worry! I told her we’d been thinking about her and Torchwood and the danger...her having a baby now...”

Ianto’s relief was evident. “What did she say?”

“Just what you did...having Rhys and Mollie gave her more to fight for and she couldn’t imagine living without Torchwood...” he left out the quiet, “...without you...” she’d added. Ianto might have dealt with his jealousy now, but that was a bit too much to ask of him...

They sauntered through the lobby and into the elevator, Jack propping the pictures up carefully on the floor before gathering Ianto to him and kissing him soundly, the young man melting into the embrace and kissing back fiercely...

They hurried out of the lift and into the suite, landing the pictures safely before collapsing onto the sofa in a tangle of limbs, mouths locked together as their passions rose, hands raking over clothing, tugging t-shirts from trousers as they writhed on the soft leather...their tongues dancing pleasurably, Ianto moaning against Jack’s mouth at the tendrils of pleasure spreading through his body, coming to rest in his groin...

Jack pressed closer, digging deep and sending a burst of his life force into the kiss. Ianto floated with the stars as Jack kissed him into ecstasy, every cell electrified, every nerve ending on fire... When they broke apart, panting, Ianto’s knees were weak and he clung on, trembling.

Jack stood up and reached for Ianto’s hand, leading him to the bedroom where he undressed him slowly, kissing every inch of flesh as it was uncovered, worshipping his body until he was moaning and writhing, completely lost in the sensations of pleasure coursing through him, every touch like fire against his heated skin, nothing else mattered but the feel of Jack’s hands and the touch of his lips...the echoes of desire from shared minds serving to increase the slow build to release.

Jack prepared him gently, angling his fingers to brush that magic spot, drawing shudders of pleasure from the Welshman as he streamed his love into his mind. Ianto let out a whimper as the fingers were removed, only to sigh as Jack pressed in, moving his hips slowly, deliberately, concentrating solely on the pleasure he was giving... Ianto’s eyes were closed, his head arched back into the bed, tiny sighs escaping his kiss swollen mouth as he moved closer to the edge, ripples of heat building in intensity until that ultimate rush of release and he gasped Jack’s name, shudders of exquisite pleasure spreading outwards...tipping Jack’s own climax as they soared in unison...

Jack stroked Ianto’s hair as they lay in each other’s arms, relishing the post-orgasmic glow that radiated through them... “...you ok..?”

“Oh, yeah..! Although I was supposed to be unwrapping you..!”

“The day is still young!” Jack arched an eyebrow suggestively and kissed him softly. “How ‘bout you control the bubbles..?” He chuckled as the Welshman led him to the shower and proceeded to demonstrate the art of control that had his Captain gasping, mewling and finally begging...bubbles as well..!

They felt the Doctor arrive and scrambled frantically to find their clothes, laughing as they tripped over each other in their haste... Ianto just managed to zip his jeans up and tug his t-shirt over his head as the Timelord approached the door, padding across in his bare feet to open it, remembering as he grinned a welcome that his hair was stuck up all over the place from the energetic towelling Jack had insisted on giving it in his ‘let-me-help-you-get-ready’ which of course had led to more distractions as he’d kissed every scrap of skin that he’d dried...of course they weren’t going to be ready when the Doctor arrived...

He blushed as he realised he’d been broadcasting this directly into the Doctor’s head...the grin that lit up his bony face suggesting that he was finding it rather amusing..!

“You might as well come out Jack...I know you’re not quite ready...” spluttering as the Captain emerged from the bathroom stark naked, “...I had rather hoped you’d have a towel on at least!” he covered his eyes and shook his head. “Do you have any idea of what the TARDIS is going to say when she reads what’s been going on in my head..?”

He grinned, allowing Ianto to help him out of his coat which he hung up neatly, before pulling the Timelord into a hug, the other man feeling the aura of happiness that radiated from the young Welshman. He held him briefly, the scent of coconut and lemongrass from his still-damp hair sending the Doctor’s mind scurrying back to a picnic on top of a grassy hillock with Rose laughing by his side as he told her tall stories of his travels...the memory caught in his throat and he loosened his hold...only to have Ianto tug him in closer, the young man knowing instinctively it was what he needed...yes, Ianto Jones was one very special young man...

Jack re-emerged from the bedroom, dressed now, rubbing his hair dry vigorously. He draped the towel around his neck and leant against the doorframe, smiling softly.

Moving into the kitchen Ianto started the coffee as the Doctor flopped into the armchair...  Jack sank onto the sofa and curled his legs under him. A few minutes later Ianto brought the coffees across and sat down on the sofa, Jack immediately stroking his hands through the young man’s hair, smoothing it down...

The Doctor watched them fondly...they were like a couple of lovesick teenagers, completely unable to keep their hands off each other...he really was going to miss them...alot...

“Ok,” he said cheerfully, sipping his coffee. “Our last day! Now, there are several things I’d like to do today and I know you’ve still got some memories you’d like locked down before I go...so if we get my bits out of the way first..?”

Two heads nodded.

“Right, number one...have you tried your mind link over any distance? Your rings are empathic enhancers from Caspian III. The people there have low level telepathic ability and it is traditional to swap these when they get married to enhance the connection between life partners...

Now, you both already had significant telepathic ability – even though you didn’t use it, it was there – and the rings have tapped into that so you get to see as well as feel...we’ve seen that in full glorious technicolour – in fact I’ve seen some things that’ll scar me for life..!” he grinned, sending them a brief clip of Ianto slamming Jack into the mattress as he devoured his mouth... “...you get my point!

The High Priestess told me that some couples are what they call ‘fated’ – this means the connection is far deeper and stronger and will work across extreme distance...in effect, the two people’s minds entwine to become one – in essence, each gets a permanent bit of the other in their head – it’s considered a gift from their Gods and is incredibly rare... Now from what I’ve seen of your connection, I’d say that describes you two pretty well...so I’d like to see if it’ll work over distance...”

Jack and Ianto looked at each other, Jack’s arm tightening around the Welshman’s shoulder as the young man leant into him. “We’ve communicated from different parts of the hub...but that’s about it – we’ve not really been apart since the ceremony...” Jack grinned. “You fancy a walk?” He pressed a gentle kiss on the young man’s forehead.

Ianto nodded and slid out of the embrace, diving into the bedroom for his socks and trainers. “Ok, where am I going?”

“To the hub first...you can pop in to say hello...see if anything needs picking up...check up on his nids...”

“Ok...” he leant down and kissed his Captain tenderly before leaving the suite. In the elevator he leant back against the wall and pressed the button for the lobby, suddenly gasping as Jack streamed an intense snogging session into his mind...he was pressed against the wall, one hand above his head clasping Jack’s tightly, the other tangled in his hair as Jack’s tongue duelled with his own, their aroused bodies arching against each other. He let out a moan as Jack’s other hand slid down his body to press between them...

The doors pinged open and he lingered a moment, panting softly as the images stopped...this was going to be an interesting walk, he thought, hearing Jack’s deep chuckle in his head...
